This view of Delph village on a Whit Friday shows the people and coaches to be seen there. Approaching the bridge is a Vanhool-bodied DAF of Bassi Travel of Fartown, Huddersfield, who on this occasion were providing transport for the Meltham and Meltham Mills Band, a band whose history stretches back to 1846.
The coach itself has a complex history. New to Landtourers of Farnham as J812 KHD it also worked for Eastern Scottish (SMT) in Citylink livery. It was later bought by Mair's, a coach fleet owned by GRT (which went on to become a founder of First Group) registered JSV 426. With Bassi travel it was registered NCZ 1913.
