The 700 route from Newtown to Machynlleth followed a similar route to the railway all the way, latterly following the valley of the Afon Dyfi. ELL318 is thundering along the A489 and will be in Machynlleth in just a few minutes.
This road was historically served by several Crosville services, none of which was very frequent. I suspect that of these the service to Talywern, which had only run twice on Wednesdays, had ceased operation well before this photograph was taken.
