Additional information:
This was built as a prototype and demonstrator by Crossley Motors and was used initially on the Hathershaw route (the truncated remains of the ill-fated Oldham route). For this purpose it was fitted with trolley wheels instead of carbon skids.

This unusual view was taken just below the depot in Mossley Road from an uncertain vantage point. There is no structure at this height and I wonder whether a tower wagon was used?
