PD2 5298 is washed out a little in the winter sunlight of 6th January 1973, whilst the haze makes clear that it wasn't only smokeless fuels being used to warm houses at this time! The houses to the right of the bus face onto the canal and the second from the right was once a public house called the Mechanic's Arms (or colloquially as t'Seaside Inn). It closed at the end of 1924.
