3537 was one of a batch of 100 similar vehicles. The earlier examples were recertified in early SELNEC days but a change in policy saw the later examples withdrawn as recertification became due in 1971/2. The earlier vehicles had long lives as illustrated by 3537, at this time seventeen and a half years old.
