The bus stops in Wallshaw Place closed from 21st October 2007 as shown on this notice. This was due to redevelopment of the Northern Carpet Supplies building, which started but stopped in June 2008 when the developers Hillstone Developments Ltd. went into administration.

Eventually the building was completely demolished but by this time Metrolink was on the scene and the bus stops never re-opened. A long period ensued with no stop for eastbound services in this vicinity and this only ended with the opening of the new Mumps interchange on 27th January 2014.
