The 1965 tour with ex-St. Helens 798 (BDJ 86) pauses in Bolton Road and many of the participants have got off to witness the rare spectacle of two prewar trolleybuses at work together in 1965. Even 666, behind 634, was twenty-six years old by this date.
666 has lowered its booms, presumably to allow 796 to pass and presumably also 634 will leave first. There were never loops here, trolleybuses normally leaving and departing in the same order. However, when the cross-city 33/44 service was running it ran into Bolton Road on a completely separate set of wires which only joined after the stops had been passed.
