P4736

Subject: Bradford C.T. 634 (BAK 934)
Chassis: AEC 661T
Body: English Electric H32/28R
Location: Preston, Dick, Kerr works
Date: c.1937

The upper saloon which, unlike later examples, had 32 seats. The rear seat on the nearside is much further back, later examples had one less seat on that side with a different seat pitch from the offside. I suspect the protruding destination displays may have been a way of creating the extra space required for this additional seat and it was decided that a more streamlined profile (which would also have been easier to maintain) justified the loss of two seats.
