Subject: Bradford C.T. 543 (KW 203) Chassis: ADC 605 Body: Strachan & Brown B30F Date: 1927 Location: North Acton, Victoria Road
543 has been towed onto Victoria Road for a photograph - North Acton station is behind but not visible as it is a little below road level. It's possible the plan was to run 543 under the wires of the Metropolitan Electric Tramways using a skate for current return - note how the positive boom has a trolley head whereas the negative does not. If it had been a few years later the 66 tram route would have become the 666 trolleybus (the 628 and 660 also ran here) and a test run would have been a lot easier.
The missing headlamps given the unpleasant impression of having had the eyes removed!
Development in recent years has completely changed the surroundings here.
Produced from a copy negative of a Strachan & Brown official photograph
