Porth, rather surprisingly, became the last stronghold of the Bristol RE in the National Welsh fleet. An April 1985 allocation list shows six of the type based there with only three more active at other depots.

Three of this 1973 quartet of RELH6Ls were amongst that allocation and RD1125 has been captured in Penygraig. It is not clear what it is working - one possibility is the 541 from Blaencwm to East Glamorgan Hospital.
