This was the site of the only junction in the Pontypridd trolleybus network, where the wires leading to the depot left the main service. For most of the time the system was operating the wiring was configured such that trolleybuses could go from the depot to or from John Street but could only travel from Cilfynydd to the depot and not the reverse.
