Pontypridd 33 (FNY 572) Glyntaff depot A Richardson
Subject: Pontypridd UDC 33 (FNY 572) Chassis: Guy Arab II 6LW Body: Park Royal UH30/26R Location: Glyntaff depot Date: c.1960
33 rests between peak hour duties at the depot in Glyntaff. The vantage point for this photograph would be the embankment of the former Pontypridd, Caerphilly and Newport railway line which used to cross Cemetery Road by the depot exit (and was still open at the time of the photo!).
33 was originally built with a 5LW engine and received a 6LW at some time, to be replaced again with a 5LW on withdrawal in 1962, Pontypridd keeping the 6LW for use in bus 46. The body had seen limited front end rebuilding by 1959 and can be seen to have upholstered seats instead of the original wooden ones.
