The lower saloon of 23. It is likely that the interior and exterior photographs were taken in different places as the tram would have to move to allow service trams to continue to operate - tramways don't often have places where you can park a tram out of the way, except at the depot.
The triangular reverser for the earlier steam trams still survives here and next to it is the Tramway Café. There was once a tramway-related mural on the gable end overlooking the reverser but that has now gone.
Just visible through the cab windows is, I believe, Blackburn Corporation 6, part of the initial bus fleet of the corporation. It will be working the express bus service which covered the same route as the trams. The express service continued long after the abandonment of the trams.
