Posed at the boundary between Blackburn and Darwen, new streamliner 23 must have caused quite a stir when it first appeared. It has been brought to this boundary point for photographs, presumably as it was the most rural section of route.
These two cars were sold to the Llandudno and Colwyn Bay Electric Railway, where rather confusingly 23 became 24 and vice versa. They were very restricted in their use on that line and therefore not the success that had been hoped.
