Shortage of spare parts led to the use of some motorbuses on the Greengates and Saltaire services, although this problem was at its worst earlier in the year. Judging by the route number (41), 81 has operated a short working to Five Lane Ends and is now returning to Thornbury depot.

The wiring here had only ever been in one direction and served as the terminal loop for the 34 service until that was abandoned over seven years earlier. However it remained in use for depot workings for another four days.
