Subject: National Welsh XC262 (C262 GUH)
Chassis: Leyland Tiger TRCTL11/3RH
Body: Plaxton Paramount 3500 C48Ft
Location: Chepstow, Bulwark workshops
Date: c.1986

XC262 is seen when fairly new. The first four of the batch were new in this version of the Rapide livery (with the other two in National Holidays style) but this changed over the years. As seen here, they didn't originally carry National Welsh fleet names.

Whilst the whole batch operated for Tellings-Golden Miller, this was the only one to operate for Rhondda Buses although not for long. It passed to Edwards, Llantwit Fardre and has been preserved since about 2015.

From an original negative in the David Beilby collection taken by Robert Edworthy
