In 1948 Brighton Corporation bought a batch of six BUT 9611T trolleybuses with Weymann H30/24R bodies. 45-50 (HUF 45-50) were of two types, 45-48 had Crompton Parkinson electrical equipment whilst that on 49/50 was by English Electric. They were re-seated to H30/26R in 1954. A decision was made to abandon the trolleybus system in 1956 and although this wasn't completed until 1961 these six BUTs, along with a pair that had only entered service in 1953, were offered for sale in 1958, young enough, it was hoped, for buyers to be found. This proved to be the case and Bradford offered a low price for 49 and 50, with the preferred English Electric equipment, and it was accepted.

They were well-appointed vehicles in good condition and needed little work prior to entering service in April and May 1959, the main change being the destination display and, of course, livery. 802 was given the experimental livery with blue lower deck window surrounds (as also tried on two of the ex-St. Helens BUTs), but later reverted to standard livery.

They had relatively short and uneventful lives in Bradford, 803 being with drawn in late 1962 and 802 some six months later.
