Subject: Lloyd, Bagillt HTG 702 and LVO 782 Chassis: AEC Regent III 9612E (HTG 702) and Crossley DD42/3 (LVO 782) Body: Weymann H30/26R (HTG 702) and Willowbrook H30/26R (LVO 782) Location: Flint, off Holywell Road Date: 10-Sep-1967
HTG 702 joined the fleet of P & O Lloyd, Bagillt in November 1958, along with sister vehicle GNY 770. It spent almost as long with Lloyd's as it did with Rhondda but does look withdrawn in this 1967 view.
LVO 782 was one of the very first postwar Crossley chassis and built for export to South Africa. However, after shipment there the order was frustrated and eventually the chassis was returned to the makers where it lay in store until 1949/50 when it was upgraded with the later downdraught engine. In this form it was sold to Baker Brothers, Warsop as their 54 and entered service in May 1951. The operator was taken over by East Midland in 1953 and the bus was absorbed into that fleet where it took the number D95. It was sold to Lloyds in September 1960 and although still at the depot as seen here, it had not been in service for a little while.
