Subject: Rhondda 237 (HTG 705)
Chassis: AEC Regent III 9612E
Body: Weymann H30/26R
Location: Cowbridge, Town Hall Square
Date: c.1948

This delightful shot captures 237 when new in the most unlikely location of Cowbridge, which I believe would normally be served by single-deckers, with one bus being enough to comfortable provide the hourly service.

The view has changed remarkably little today, the building on the left is the Town Hall which was originally built as a "House of Correction", or prison, before being converted to a Town Hall in 1830. As implied by the sign on the left, there was a garage here which housed a fire engine.
