This bus was one of a pair new to East Midland. This one was D115 in that fleet; what West Mon hadn’t realised was that East Midland bought both air- and vacuum-braked versions and they ended up with one of each! Oddly enough, it was this vacuum-braked one, more familiar to the Board’s drivers, that had a short life as it only ran for about eighteen months.

The woman is asking the driver a question whilst the conductor is on hand, somewhat uncomfortably, to provide support if needed.
