Subject: Dunfermline & District 1 Maker: United Electric Car Company, Preston Seating: 29/26 Truck: Brill/UEC Motors: ? Controller: ? Location: Preston, Dick, Kerr Works Date new: 1909
Although not readily visible on the web, this interior view of the first Dunfermline car carries a maker's transfer showing that it was built for The British Thomson-Houston Company (BTH) by The United Electric Car Company.
Although I have been unable to confirm it, this indicates that the main contractor for the tramway was BTH. The tramway itself was owned by the Fife Electric Power Company, which was a subsidiary of Balfour Beatty.
