Subject: Wynn’s 161 (EDW 96) hauling NSWGR 4601 Location: Oldham, Union Street Date: c.1956
4601 is seen from an unusual and rather precarious position looking from the end of Broadway across Oldham Road.
The bus, like the loco, still exists today in preservation. Manchester Corporation 3245 was one of the last batch of buses built to the traditional Manchester style with downswept front windows. It was in service until 1971 and is now resident in the Greater Manchester Museum of Transport at Boyle Street, Cheetham Hill, which was an annexe of the Queen's Road garage from which the bus was working when seen here.
