Subject: National Welsh H7365 (ETX 480C)
Chassis: AEC Regent V 2MD3RA
Body: Northern Counties H37/28F
Location: Tynewydd, St. Alban’s Bridge
Date: 4-Sep-1978

By this date the five remaining Regent Vs were identifiable from a great distance as they featured individual combinations of black and cream window rubbers, fixed and opening windscreens and different NBC logos on the front grille. A line-up of the five appears in the Miscellaneous section of the Rhondda vehicles gallery from which you can compare.

These characteristics have enabled me to identify this as H7365 from my rather elevated viewpoint some way up Pen Pych (but nowhere near the summit). It was a pleasant day for taking in the panorama of the Rhondda valley.

H7365 is on its way to Blaencwm and underneath the bridge can clearly be seen the track of the Taff Vale Railway goods line which ran up to Fernhill colliery.

The trees on Pen Pych would make such a view impossible today.
