JLJ3064

Subject: Western Welsh 484 (ETX 484C)
Chassis: AEC Regent V 2MD3RA
Body: Northern Counties H37/28F
Location: Pontypridd, Morgan Street
Date: 12-Jan-1974

In 1974 484 was running in this livery, still all-over red, but with Western Welsh fleet names in the NBC style. The fleet number has been moved to the Western Welsh position and above it is the white allocation diamond for Porth depot.

484 has now got two step holes below the front grille, something that was a feature of the long Regents but not of the Northern Counties-bodied ones - I believe this was the only one of these so fitted. The bottom grille panel had probably originally been fitted to one of the earlier buses (just like the grille, but they were not changed at the same time). The steps would not normally be needed to change the blinds as the handle was brought much lower on a framework.
