Subject: Western Welsh 503 (VTG 503G)
Chassis: Leyland Atlantean PDR1A/1
Body: Northern Counties H42/31F
Location: Pontypridd, off Chapel Street
Date: 14-Sep-1973

Rhondda 503 is a Western Welsh bus here but the only evidence is the legal lettering. It has lost the fleet names on the front and nearside, the latter quite recently by the looks of it. As the later photograph shows, it clearly hadn't lost the offside Rhondda fleet name.

It is parked up in Pontypridd having presumably worked to Treforest Trading Estate, the route number implies it could have worked from Gilfach Goch, by this date the low bridge in Tonyrefail would have been removed, allowing the use of double-deckers.
