The 142, 143 and 147 services were worked in a cycle serving Bryn-y-Gwynt and Hill Top to the west of Ebbw Vale and to Brynmawr in the east, with the 147 continuing, as seen here, to Abergavenny.

NS1579 has stopped in Ebbw Vale on Market Street, no longer served by buses which instead use bus stands adjacent to the inner by-pass. The Tesco store behind was built on the site of the Astoria Cinema but since 1998 has been The Picture House, a Wetherspoon's pub.
