Subject: City of Hull Tramways 101 Maker: English Electric, Preston, finished by Hull Corporation Truck: Rayner patent cardan-shaft drive Seating: 46/32 Location: Hull Date: c.1923
This was the third tram in the fleet to carry the number 101 and also the last new tram in the Hull fleet. The first 101 was a trailer which was quickly converted to a motored car and renumbered 66, the second was Hull's only bogie car new in 1900 and sold in 1916 to Erith. There it survived long enough to become part of the London Transport fleet in 1933.
This 101 had the unique Rayner patent truck, which is described in more detail with photo P3082.
This 101 was withdrawn quite early, in 1934, probably due its non-standard features.
