22 is part of a convoy led by a Rhondda parcels van. It is negotiating flood water on the troublesome stretch through Trehafod.
The houses below road level in the distance were presumably having an ever tougher time of it. Beyond them can just be made out some coaches on the former Barry Railway sidings next to the erstwhile engine shed. Just out of sight round the corner in the distance was the Pontypridd UDC tram depot at Trehafod which closed in 1920 when through running commenced on the service to Porth. The building was then moved to provide additional capacity at the depot in Glyntaff.
Note the unusual gutter below the upper saloon emergency door on 22 - it wouldn’t pay to stand on the offside of that on a rainy day!
