HR5971 has just left Taff's Well and is approaching Nantgarw. It would soon pass under the substantial bridge carrying the former Cardiff Railway line which at this stage just served the colliery and coking plant at Nantgarw. The bridge has now been removed and replaced by a small footbridge carrying a cycleway and footpath.
