Subject: Rhymney Valley 66 (ANY 433B) Chassis: AEC Reliance 2MU3RA Body: Willowbrook B45F Location: Pontypridd, off Chapel Street Date: 1-Mar-1975
This bus was new as Gelligaer 13 but was renumbered 30 quite quickly when the the haphazard Gelligaer numbering scheme was rationalised by Roy Marshall when he was General Manager. It received its final number as seen here in Rhymney Valley ownership but still carrying its final Gelligaer livery which featured a mainly white front end.
This BET-style of body was quite popular with Welsh valley municipalities when most Willowbrook bodies were of a later style similar to that on Western Welsh U1268 (RTG 314F) to the right, albeit that is a Marshall body. Aberdare, Gelligaer, Pontypridd and West Mon all bought late examples.
