Subject: National Welsh UD388 (KWO 557X) Chassis: Leyland Leopard PSU3F/4R Body: Willowbrook 003 Mk. II C47F Location: Pontypridd bus station Date: 6-Jul-1991
Several months before Rhondda Buses came into being, National Welsh UD388 is showing off the livery that would be adopted by Rhondda Buses, the new company wisely not discarding a good local identity. UD388 had only just received it, three of this type being the first vehicles to carry the new livery which had been adopted by what was left of National Welsh when the Eastern half of the company had been sold to Western Travel.
UD388, which started life as UC8202, is showing off its replacement Plaxton front which had been fitted in the February of the previous year following an accident.
