243 was the last three axle single-deck trolleybus built for the UK market and was the last new trolleybus to Cardiff, arriving on 15-Apr-1955. The chassis was built at the Crossley works in Erwood Park, Stockport.
It is seen here reversing at the Pier Head terminus of the 16, the route for which it was built. Withdrawn with the closure of the Bute Street service on 12-Jan-1964, it has survived in preservation.
