227 is seen in original condition, although clearly not brand new, outside the Clare Road depot. One feature clearly visible is the duty or running board number F10 just behind the cab door.

Delivered on 28th August 1948, 227 was rebuilt in October 1964 and the last of the batch to receive this treatment. It was also one of the last of the batch to be withdrawn, on 3rd December 1969 after what turned out to be the last day of normal service operation.
