Subject: Stratford Blue 44 (2745 AC) Chassis: Leyland Tiger Cub PSUC1/1 Body: Willowbrook B45F Location: Stratford-upon-Avon, Red Lion bus station Date: c.1960
44 was fairly new at the time of the photo and would pass to Creamline at the beginning of 1973. It was the one member of the batch of five to be delivered as a bus, rather than a dual-purpose vehicle, and didn’t feature some of the decorative trim as a consequence.
44 is working a short journey on the 5 service to Evesham - there were just two departures to Luddington on schooldays only, a short ten minute run. In the background is Midland Red LD8 4018 (or 4019 - both were Digbeth buses) working the 150 service to Birmingham, jointly worked with Stratford Blue.
