Although the front of U971 is partly obscured by one of Cardiff's Alexander-bodied Bristol VRTs, this is an interesting shot in recording the display used on the return workings of the 506 service when it was extended to Cardiff. National Welsh made the sensible assumption that few people at this end of the route would know where Nythbran was and therefore displayed Porth Nythbran.

Rebuilding work would soon start on the bus station.
