Numerically the first of Newcastle's trolleybus fleet, 11 was one of thirty of similar design but with three different chassis and three different bodybuilders. These were used to open Newcastle's first trolleybus route from Denton Burn to Wallsend, with services starting on 1-Oct-1935.
The prewar fleet was all of this dual-door configuration on six-wheel chassis and was renumbered in 1946, having 300 added to their existing numbers.
