Subject: National Welsh UC1196 (SDW 912Y)
Chassis: Leyland Tiger TRCTL11/3R
Body: Plaxton Paramount C51F
Location: unknown
Date: c.1984

UC1196 was numerically the first of the twenty Plaxton Paramount-bodied Leyland Tigers that joined the National Welsh fleet in 1983. It was re-registered AAX 311A in January 1987 but would last just eleven months in that guise, being severely damaged in an arson attack at the Bulwark workshops on 17-Nov-1987. It was then rebodied with a Duple body.

UC1196 was one of the vehicles given red and green stripes for the TrawsCambria service. The location of the photograph has defeated my best efforts at identification and any assistance would be gratefully received.
