Subject: National Welsh UC896 (AAX 311A)
Chassis: Leyland Tiger TRCTL11/3R
Body: Duple 340 C50Ft
Location: Cardiff bus station
Date: 9-Feb-1990

This vehicle had originally carried a Plaxton body which was replaced with this Duple one after a fire in 1987. It looked very elegant turned out in this cardinal red livery. As originally built, this body did not have any destination display equipment and it is therefore difficult to know what it was doing on this occasion.

Originally numbered UC1196, it became UC196 in early 1987. However, by the time it entered service with this body in Nov-1988 the remaining members of the batch had been renumbered to leave their old numbers free for new Bustler minibuses, so it re-entered service as UC896.
