Subject: Sir Alfred McAlpine GRC 123 Location: Oldham Mumps Date: 12-Sep-1970
This Willowbrook-bodied Leyland Tiger Cub was once in the Trent fleet but by this time was working for the well-known contractor.
The final touches were being put to the roundabout on this day, with the exit towards the town centre being surfaced and traffic being sent the wrong way round the island. Eastbound traffic was diverted through Wallshaw Place.
The manoeuvre wasn’t too difficult for most vehicles, but as can be seen behind (and in my gallery on the D and 22 service), it was more of a challenge for 36-foot long Leyland Panther.
