Subject: National Welsh HR855 (MUH 285X)
Chassis: Leyland Olympian ONLXB/1R
Body: ECW H45/32F
Location: Cardiff, Duke Street
Date: 28-Jun-1986

This bus had been HR1855 until some three months earlier and it's easy to see how the number was changed. It can just be seen to have the local identifier in a different place on the offside, where it is just above the driver's side window over the white band.

The 353/354 services had only started running here on 6-May-1986, replacing the X99 and similarly providing a link to the Eastern part of Cardiff City Centre by making a loop round from the bus station.

This bus lasted until the end of National Welsh and then passed through Rhondda Buses acting as a dealer. It is believed that they used it occasionally before selling it to Southend Transport, in which fleet it was numbered 282.
