Subject: Taff-Ely BC 8 (UTG 313G) Chassis: AEC Regent V 2MD3RA Body: Willowbrook H34/26F Location: Cardiff, Queen Street Date: 11-Aug-1977
One of the more unusual private hires worked by Taff-Ely was transporting bandsmen to the Cardiff Searchlight Tattoo. In 1977 it was titled the Silver Jubilee Tattoo and, as the poster on the lamppost just to the left of 8 reveals, ran from 4th to 13th August 1977. One of the bandsmen can be seen in the front seat upstairs, his bright red tunic not being normal 1970s attire - really!
8 will shortly turn into Park Place, but no traffic is seen here today as Queen Street has been pedestrianised.
