Subject: Rhondda Buses 254 (G689 KNW)
Chassis: Optare Metrorider
Body: Optare B31F
Location: Cardiff, Bute Street
Date: 16-Mar-1996

254 heads down Bute Street towards the Maritime Road Park and Ride site on the special service.

The yellow brick building in the background is a Salvation Army property currently known as the Tŷ Gobaith Lifehouse, which is a replacement for an earlier property known as Ferguson House which used to be on the site of the modern brick building largely concealed by the bus.

The other buildings seen form St. Nicholas' Greek Orthodox church, occupying the site of a former brewery. The church is part of the multi-cultural environment in this area resulting from its strong maritime connections.
