Subject: Southend C.T. 111 (JN 61) Chassis: English Electric E11 Body: English Electric H33/26D Location, Preston, Dick, Kerr works Year: 1930
Southend bought two of these English Electric vehicles - 110/111 (JN 60/61). They were rebuilt to H30/26R in 1937, the removal of the front door seemingly having the odd effect of reducing the seating capacity. They also had the Estler-type concentric trolleybase replaced with a more conventional side-by-side arrangement.
They were withdrawn in 1939, passing to Nottingham in 1940 where they ran (as 302 and 303) until 1946/47.
